Silly season 2027: Will World of Outlaws drivers move to High Limit?
Brady Bacon is locked into the Vermeer 55 for 2027, and the bigger question is whether any World of Outlaws drivers follow him to High Limit.
Silly season is starting, and the question people in the pits are asking is simple: will any World of Outlaws drivers make the move to High Limit in 2027?
Rumors are circulating about major changes ahead. So far, very little is confirmed.
Tanner Holmes and Justin Peck are confirmed to return to High Limit in 2027. So is the Vermeer 55 team, with crew chief Tye Wolfgang back on the box. All of it was announced at the High Limit banquet the weekend of October 17 and 18.
Update, October 29: The Vermeer 55 seat is filled. On October 22, team owner Tony Vermeer named Brady Bacon the full-time driver of the No. 55 for the 2027 High Limit season, with Tye Wolfgang staying on as crew chief. Bacon drove the car for the final 10 races of 2026, including a podium at Lakeside Speedway and a top five at Eldora Speedway.
The four-time USAC National Sprint Car champion has 64 USAC national sprint car wins, second all-time. 2027 will be his first full-time season in a winged 410 sprint car, though he ran the winged 360 ASCS National Tour full-time from 2010 to 2012 and won 12 races. He is eligible for High Limit Rookie of the Year.
The questions to follow over the winter:
- Does a World of Outlaws regular make the jump to High Limit?
- Do other teams reshuffle once the first announcements land?
Until teams and series confirm their plans, treat everything beyond the names above as rumor. We will update this page as announcements come in.
